The Ultimate Guide to Women's Jewellery: Styles, Trends, and More

Women’s jewellery changes loads. In fact, jewellery styles for women change like they do for clothing! There are some classic women’s jewellery that’ll always be in style, though.

Our ultimate guide to women’s jewellery trends covers the best jewellery styles for women in 2024 as well as how to choose the right jewellery for women based on occasions. Keep reading now for women’s jewellery fashion tips.

Women’s Jewellery Types

There’s lots of women’s jewellery types that you’ll have heard of. There’s the classic styles, like earrings and necklaces. Then there’s body jewellery, like belly rings. We’ve looked at both these types below.

Classics

Necklaces and bracelets are always popular women’s jewellery pieces. They’re worn in so many ways. There's also so many styles. They're timeless pieces.  For those with ear-piercing holes, earrings are also popular. In fact, you can get clip-on styles if you don’t have a piercing too!

These types are the most popular for fashion jewellery for women. They come in plenty of styles too, so it doesn’t matter your own style, you’ll find something you like.

Camile & Stone has many variations and we offer earrings, bracelets, and more in sterling silver and gold jewellery options. We also have rose gold and other materials.

Body jewellery

Trendy women's jewellery sometimes includes body pieces. This is belly rings, cartilage piercings, nose rings, and other pieces like that. They’re less popular than the above mostly because not everyone has these piercing holes.

Also, body jewellery doesn’t just need piercing holes. You can find things like belly chains, which are essentially a big necklace you wear at your waist! Anklets might also be considered body jewellery. We have an extensive selection of anklets that are popular in the summer months especially.

Jewellery Trends

While jewellery trends do come and go, there are a few trending styles we think have some staying power below. Choose the ones that suit your personal style best.

Layering

Layering is a huge trend right now. It can apply to all sorts of jewellery types too. You can choose plain stacking rings, like this one. You would wear a few on each finger and pair it with more across your other fingers. But you can also layer other pieces too.

Necklaces can be layer easily. You could choose a plain chain, like this one, and layer it with a statement piece. You should choose different lengths for sure, as this ensures people can see all your pieces individually!

Bracelets can be stacked and alyer. You might choose beaded bracelets or mix and match with chains. Bangles are also easily layered, but beware they might get a bit noisy!

Chains

Chains in all forms are popular right now. Most often you’ll see them as necklaces. We love a statement chain necklace, like our Molten Necklace. However, we also like plainer chains and pendants stacked together.

A really great way to stack chains is to add other necklace styles. You could choose a few chains and then add a pearl necklace to introduce something new. Be aware that chains will need to be slightly different lengths or you’ll be wearing a pile, not a stack!

Hoop earrings

Hoop earrings are a mainstay in the jewellery fashion world. They’re so common that you’ll find a million different styles. We have an extensive collection, obviously. It includes silver and gold styles. We have small and large hoops and even chunkier styles, like these. We even have some with dangles on them, like these Evil Eye earrings.

Black pieces

Last, another style we’ve seen lots of this year is black jewellery. This is both black metal and black stones.

For black metal, there’s lots of men's bracelets and cuffs you can find. The black metal makes it slightly more masculine if that’s the style you’re going for. For black gemstones, there’s lots of options. You can get black diamonds and sapphires as well as more commonly known black stones, like black opals and moonstones.

These black pieces are on trend, and even for engagement rings. Remember that your engagement ring is forever so choose wisely. We have many classic engagement rings with diamonds and moissainite too, if you prefer that style!

What to Wear When

Knowing the trends doesn’t mean you also know how to style them. And sometimes it can be difficult to find out what’s appropriate for each occasion. So, below we’ve given you some guidance.

Everyday

Everyday jewels tend to be more simple. However, they should be made from hardwearing materials because of the frequency of wear. All Camile & Stone everyday pieces are made from the highest quality materials and so are durable.

We love stacked rings and a plain chain for everyday wear. And if you’re allowed hoops at work, a simple pair of those will look great. You could also go for stacked and layer necklaces if you’re not a ring person.

If you want something entirely subtle, then thin silver or gold hoops with no other jewellery will look fab. If you’re not an earring person, consider just wearing a few plain rings. Both gold and silver jewellery can be worn every day.

Occasions

Special occasions give you the opportunity to dress up which means you can be more extravagant in your jewellery selections. Some of the above styles really work well for this. They're the perfect jewellery styles.

For instance, layering a chain necklace with a statement pearl necklace is elegant while still very trendy. Consider a classic pearl necklace like this one. For more glamour, add some pearl earrings.

We also love black gemstones for a touch of the dramatic. Consider a statement black opal ring or a choker of black gemstones for something very vampiric!

Lastly, you can for sure add a pair of hoops to your dressed-up outfit. Consider something glamorous like our Sapphire Inlay Huggies for a bold statement.

One trend we’d advise avoiding for occasions is stacked cuffs or bangles. No one wants to be the noisy guest at a wedding so maybe pass on the clinking arm jewellery!

Final Thoughts

Jewellery trends change often but with so many mainstays, it is easy to look great always. Hoops, chains, and layers are all here to stay, we think! Remember that as trends do change, your tastes might too, so consider whether a bold design is your style first before buying!
